Bad Schmiedeberg spa gardens

The historic Bad Schmiedeberg spa gardens have been an important part of the town's spa life for many decades.

In 1878, the "Städtische Eisenmoorbad" was founded in Schmiedeberg. The associated park had already been laid out 4 years earlier as a garrison park. Many of the trees and shrubs planted back then still characterize the spa park today. It is also adorned with a magnolia grove, a moor and herb axis, a rose garden and a band of perennials. The concert garden, relaxation garden, sun park, cyclists' memorial and the two Kneipp facilities are further important elements of the spa park. From 2005 - 2007, the historic park was renovated in accordance with the preservation order on the basis of park plans from 1932.

Today, the park is open to the public and is enriched by a regular range of themed guided tours, music and cultural events.
