Zahna Farmers' Museum

Zahna

Zahna is one of the oldest towns in Saxony-Anhalt and is characterized by the Romanesque town church of St. Marien. The charming farmer's museum invites young and old to visit.

The shape and structure of the historic town center dates back to the high medieval settlement of the Fläming by Dutch colonists (Flemings) in the 12th century. The Romanesque Kreuzkirche St. Marien is the largest and oldest church in the Fläming region, as it was first mentioned in 987 and rebuilt by the Flemings a short time later.

The Zahna Farm Museum is located directly on the Berlin-Leipzig cycle path. On the 600-year-old Flemish farm with a house dating back to 1730, you can visit an originally furnished apartment from 1920. The extensive collection of tractors, harvesting and farming equipment and the well-preserved smithy vividly illustrate how farm work has changed over the centuries.
