Saalow barn windmill
The small village of Saalow is home to the unique Schubert barn windmill, the brainchild of the resourceful farmer Schubert.
Because he didn't want to pay mill interest, he quickly built a mill wheel similar to a turbine in the barn in 1884 and was thus able to grind his own flour quietly and secretly.
