Gendarmenmarkt

Gendarmenmarkt

The market is located in the historic center of Berlin, measures 3.3 hectares and is one of the most important hotspots in the German capital.

The market is by far the most diverse and exclusive place that the Spree metropolis has to offer: Numerous restaurants and cafés invite you to linger. Luxurious stores and boutiques line the square as well as the nearby shopping mile, Friedrichstraße. Culture lovers get their money's worth at the first-class performances of the Konzerthaus. And for international business people, the square is Berlin's most important hub, home to renowned hotels, prestigious banks, law firms, clinics and real estate agents.

Flanked by the two domes of the French and German cathedrals, the concert hall designed by Schinkel in 1818-1821 as a playhouse dominates one of the most beautiful squares in Europe.
