HeimatMuseum Luckenwalde
The HeimatMuseum shows how royal decisions, social democrats, free thinkers, inventors and factory owners, economic crises, National Socialism, planned economy and monetary union shaped the economic and social life of Luckenwalde.
In the permanent exhibition, you can find out what a medieval beer dispute and the great town fire in 1780 in Gera, 222 km away, have to do with Luckenwalde's rapid economic upturn. The history of the town, from Luckenwalde Castle to the biotechnology park, is vividly explained. You can admire unusual items such as Rudi Dutschke's sweater and a further 12,000 exhibits.
