Forest house at Bergwitzsee
A heather magnet for all nature lovers with an interactive exhibition and an activity and education area for young and old.
The Waldhaus am Bergwitzsee is located within walking distance of Lake Bergwitz, directly on the cycle path. Here you can get valuable ideas and information about the Düben Heath Nature Park and the Elbe floodplain. The exhibition and experience area focuses on nature with water, forest and all its creatures, as well as the people of the region. Visitors get into a boat in the "Water" themed area, catch a few fish and find out how Lake Bergwitz was formed. Because here, where the Bergwitzsee is located today, was once the open-cast lignite mine "Roberts Hoffnung".
The information center houses an interactive exhibition and a movement center in the educational area. In the outdoor area of the site, the beaver play castle, a 7-senses tree house, a climbing and balancing forest and an action playground invite visitors to explore.
