Streets of Berlin

Berlin

Berlin has always been one of the most visited centers of national and international city tourism. Its main attractions are architecture, historical sites, museums, festivals, shopping, nightlife and major events, which attract several hundred thousand visitors every year.

A new era began for Berlin with the fall of the Berlin Wall on November 9, 1989. The reunification of Germany in 1990, the capital city decision in 1991 and the relocation of the government and parliament to the former historic center of the city led to a rapid development of the cityscape. The upheaval and transformation of the entire city is reflected in many places, such as Potsdamer Platz.

With inner-city forests, parks and plantations, such as the Tiergarten, the Botanical Garden and the Zoological Garden, Berlin is the greenest city in Germany.
