Düben Castle

Bad Düben

The lovingly renovated spa town invites you to enjoy and linger with its small, fine stores, cafés and restaurants.

The town hall on the market square, which was only restored a few years ago, also has an amusing eye-catcher in the form of the town hall clock. Beneath it, two billy goats bang their heads against each other on the hour.

Bad Düben's landmark, the 1000-year-old Düben Castle, which gave the town and the region its name, is unmistakable. The historic ground is closely associated with names such as Hans Kohlhase, Heinrich von Kleist, King Gustav Adolf II of Sweden and Napoleon.

Today, the castle is home to the Düben Heath Landscape Museum and the Bergschiffmühle is located in its former moat. Peace and quiet, on the other hand, can be enjoyed on a stroll under old trees or in the sea of rhododendron flowers in the idyllic spa gardens.
